Requiescat in Pace: The Philosophy of Ezio Auditore
A profound lesson for life — from a fictional assassin
If you’re reading this right now, I assume you’ve played at least one of the Assassin’s Creed games before, and you know who Ezio Auditore is. Ezio is perhaps the most-loved amongst all of the Assassin’s Creed protagonists, having been made his own trilogy (Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations) and a bunch of other spin-off entries — and this affection isn’t given without reason.
Personally, what I love about Ezio is his wisdom. The writers did an amazing job writing Ezio’s thoughts and dialogues, through which this wisdom is made apparent.
A few months ago, I published an article about how we can find wisdom in any source, even in unlikely objects like comic books and video games. I believe Ezio Auditore can be a perfect example of this.
