I see your point, Quint. Indeed, the initial freedom of this world has gave birth to many forms of hierarchies. Sometimes it can seem like a race to the top, a battle for the highest power; and those left on the lower ends are denied some degree of their innate freedom.
I don't have all the answers, but I think however minuscule our freedom becomes, we will always have choices to make, as shown in Frankl's story. I realize his story is unbelievable, it left me in awe. I can't imagine how much willpower one has to muster to get through that hellish circumstance.
However, I agree that it would be unwise to take his story as the only formula. I am interested in examining other alternatives, and would appreciate it if you have some ideas to share.
