“I don’t know how to run a newspaper, Mr. Thatcher; I just try everything I can think of.”

— Charles Foster Kane, Citizen Kane

It’s a confusing world.

Nobody knows what they’re doing, you know?

Some people advise feigning confidence. Fake it ’til you make it,” they say.

But I’m done living like that. I’m tired of walking on eggshells.

It’s exhausting to tippy-toe all day, every day; hoping that people won’t see through your thinly veiled impostor syndrome.

If anything, I’m trying to live more recklessly. I’d rather be upfront about my fears and worries. Paradoxically, it makes me feel more courageous.

When you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to lose.

I still doubt myself on a regular basis, but I push myself just as often.

I told myself: When in doubt, go nuts. Try everything you can think of. Given you have the resources to spare, trial-and-error is the most surefire strategy. Eventually, something’s bound to work. And work it did.
