Perhaps, people like Tim Ferriss and Ryan Holiday are doing their part by popularizing Stoicism, albeit skewing or over-simplifying it a bit (like other public figures do with other ideas).

And then, there's people like you, who sees the missing piece and strives to fill it.

I think, as long as writers like them are balanced by writers like you, the readers will still get a positive outcome. One side introduces them to the idea, and the other side corrects and augments that initial introduction. Both sides are noble and necessary.
