A similar phenomenon is also present in Indonesia. As the country is spread across over 17000+ islands, the various ethnic groups in Indonesia speak over 700+ different languages (making it the 2nd most linguistically-diverse country in the world - India is the 4th I believe?). Like Indians, most Indonesians speak at least 3 languages: English, Bahasa Indonesia, and their regional language (in my case, this is Javanese).
